Mountains that almost scrape the skies

One look from the panoramic terrace of the Gitschberg Hotel and you will agree: the Dolomites have a unique beauty. Not for nothing did UNESCO designate them a world nature heritage site in 2009. The sheer rocky towers of the Dolomites extend over an area of 150 km by 80 km. With the highest peak, Marmolada (3,334 m) and 17 other three-thousanders, the bizarre shapes of these mountains offer a spectacular backdrop for hikes, ski trips and climbing tours.

Travelling through the Dolomites will bring you to the landscapes that you seek: the Alpe di Siusi, the largest high plateau in Europe; the Catinaccio-Latemar region with its myths and legends; the famous Plan de Corones ski area; the Alta Val Pusteria with the three unmistakable spires of the Tre Cime; the Gardena valley and Alta Badia, two very special holiday regions that still preserve their Ladin culture and language.
